The number one reason that some people quit working out is boredom. Even if you use the newest and most fancy exercise machines, it is still repetitive and can get old pretty fast. For this reason, aerobics and pilates have become really popular: there are such a huge amount of different routines to try that it is all but impossible to get bored with aerobics and pilates.

Having Fun Socially While Working Out
While there are some people who like exercising alone, most people really enjoy being part of a group. Group workouts are really fun for people who like laughing, joking, and helping others stay motivated. There are often a large amount of aerobic and Pilates classes offered at YMCAs, gyms, and fitness clubs.
Pilates and Aerobics: Same or Different?
Twenty years ago, there was a big difference between aerobics fitness and Pilates fitness. Aerobics in the 1980's meant a variety of progressively strenuous exercises to upbeat dance music. Getting through a one hour class could become an exercise in physical torture. After a few years, it was determined that these aerobic workouts were did more harm than they did good.
In the last ten years or so, aerobics and Pilates have been fused together to make a safe and healthy workout. Pilates arose from several sources: everything from Greco-Roman wrestling to yoga and gymnastics have left their mark on Pilates as we know it today. Occasionally, even swimming is part of Pilates , complete with beach balls as fitness aids.
The Great Benefits of Aerobic Pilates Workouts
When you regularly get in your aerobic pilates workouts, you can be sure your body will thank you. The body benefits are many, and include making a stronger immune system, helping prevent diabetes and heart disease, and even a better overall mood. Making aerobics and pilates part of your life will also give you a natural mood boost, and help to prevent depression.
Because Pilates and water aerobics are such a low impact and gentle way to exercise, it is becoming a top choice for senior citizens as well as young people. Because seniors are more likely to have joint pain and uncomfortable tingling in their extremities, exercise routines like these are ideal and really help to relieve such problems. Should you ever get tired of the fitness routine you're doing, give something different a try: you can choose from many options, including gardening, jumping rope, wall climbing, or horseback riding.
